The six rupee colors form a simple value ladder that feeds directly into Goron trading and several recipes. This page shows the conversions so you can tell what a pile of rupees is actually worth.

Why is Purple 50?
The recipes include 2 Red + 2 Blue (40 + 10) for one Purple, or 2 Purple for one Silver (100). These values are derived from the recipe exchange system.
